Article  Sports Enthusiasts Use Airsoft Guns When Reenacting Battles Looking for some exciting fun on your next vacation?  A new kind of vacation fun is taking shape in America’s heartland. Many people seeking adventure, nature and a lot of fun are becoming battle reenactors. This is not your grandfather’s Civil War reenactment experience. This new reenactment uses modern equipment and combat strategies to take out your opponent.   Teams wear battle fatigues and devise tactical strategies to test the other team’s endurance.  The players usually conduct the game in the woods and use airsoft guns to pick off their opponents.  The mock battle can last for an afternoon or carry over for a weekend or a week adventure.  Teams usually consisting of four or more people vote on captains and co-captains and then establish a battle plan. These vacations are a great experience for sports, hunting and nature enthusiasts. The skirmishes, also called sports events, are similar to the tactical events that paintballers enjoy, where teams plan and execute a tactical battle plan. Basically, the reenactment makes for a great game of hide and seek with airsoft guns for adventurous adults all over the country. Some teams even have a videographer record a video for a replay of the battle. The battle spots are usually set up in a wooded area where special playing fields are developed. Players crawl through the brush and hide behind tree stumps or sand bags strategically placed for camouflage. The players are equipped with numerous guns ranging from airsoft guns to KWA guns.  The participants run through fields, hide under bushes and devise hiding spots in trees to view their opponent. If participants need to hone their shooting skills, practice ranges are available.  The targets are usually circular with a red bull’s eye for accurate aim. Groups include college friends reuniting for the weekend, or a team of sports enthusiasts looking for a new team game. Women can play as well, although they must be willing to spend long hours outdoors in fatigue and protective gear while lugging around heavy equipment. These battle sports events are for hardy and adventurous women. If you thrive on competition and love to participate in team sports, consider joining one of the recreational sports clubs that compete in tactical battles. Currently there are over 90 different competitive and recreational sports clubs. The events include paintballing, climbing, hunting, lacrosse, shooting, martial arts, and, interestingly enough, lawn bowling. The recreational sports clubs offer something for just about everyone. Most of the competitive sports have their own Web sites so members can stay in touch and plan events. Besides being a fun way to stay social, the team sports are also a great way to stay in shape.  Many team sports players also do a great deal of fundraising for the local community. Some of the sports and adventure vacations are also geared toward families. Canoeing, hiking, and kayaking are fun sports that the entire family can enjoy.
