| Do It Yourself Wedding Invitations are a Great Way to Let Your Personality Flow |
| When planning your wedding, each detail is an opportunity for you to show your personality and create the perfect wedding day for you and your beloved. By using do it yourself wedding invitations, you have complete control over the first element of your wedding that your friends and family will see.
While it may seem like a very small detail, your wedding invitations are actually a very important part of your wedding day. Sure, they get sent out months before the big day, but they will be the first official thing that your guests see as far as your wedding goes. You will most likely tell friends and family when the wedding is before you send out your invitations, but the invites will be their first real glimpse at what your wedding will be like.
By designing and making your wedding invitations yourself, you have complete control over the final outcome. You get to choose not only the overall style, but the color, font type, size of the lettering and any graphics that you want to include. While ready made invitations can be nicely done, they don’t offer much opportunity for creativity or uniqueness. And they can be very, very expensive. Do you really want to pay top dollar for something that may not be perfect for you and your big day? You can save even more money by printing your invitations yourself rather than taking them to a copy shop to get them printed.
With everything else that you have to plan, deciding to create and make your own wedding invitations may seem like a daunting task, but in reality can be very easy to do. You can make your invites as simple or as complicated as you want. With do it yourself wedding invitations you can create a simple one page invitation, or you can add layers to it with ribbon, vellum or sparkly paper.
While traditionally wedding invitations are white or cream paper with colored lettering to make your wedding colors, you can go for bold by creating a colored wedding invite with black lettering. If color is the main theme of your wedding, this is a great DIY idea, especially if your wedding is centered around a season such as fall (think bright oranges and chocolate browns) or Christmas (deep greens, maroons and reds).
If you’ve decided to decorate your wedding with mounds and mounds of daisies, then creating an invitation that has an image or a drawing of a daisy on it is a nice way to tie in the invitation to your wedding day. If you are having a Celtic themed wedding, then a Celtic knot work invitation would be a beautiful DIY option.
If you do decide that you want to add graphics to your invitations, you don’t have to be an artist to do so. There are plenty of websites that offer free images and graphics for use on invitations. In fact, with the amount of free images available, you should have no problem finding the picture that you’re looking for, regardless of how unique it is. But there is no rule that says you have to have a picture as part of your invitation. Picking out a favorite poem or a few lines from “your song” can create a beautiful and personal invitation.
If you have a bit of creativity, you can come up with the perfect invites to complement your big day. Do it yourself wedding invitations offer you the freedom and flexibility to make your invitations stand out from the crowd. |
